Who we are

A campus, a heritage site, a hotel, a centre for meetings and congresses, a range of apartments, a coaching service, bid presentations, a budgeting service, promotional support, a general co-ordination service...

UAB CAMPUS

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona was founded on a hitherto unknown concept in this country: namely that of a campus university.

The main campus is located in Bellaterra, in a natural environment of 230 hectares, only 25 km. from Barcelona, within close proximity to the Barcelona-El Prat airport and well connected, via an excellent public transport network, with the city centre and the rest of Catalunya.

Within the campus there is a hotel-congress centre with 104 double guest rooms, apartments of various sizes able to cater for up to 2193 people, a large number of auditoriums and meeting rooms, a wide selection of bars and restaurants, sporting installations of the highest order, a shopping area, a cinema, a theatre, medical assistance, a large area of natural beauty and all the services and amenities organizers of any activity might wish for.

In Barcelona, the UAB manages a modernist building, Casa Convalescència, which forms part of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau site, declared a Monument of Historical, Artistic Interest and part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Casa Convalescència also provides all the spaces and services necessary in order to organize congresses, conventions, meetings, courses and events of whatever kind. Due to its singularity and uniqueness as a building it is also ideally suited to celebrations, presentations and cultural and social functions.

The UAB campuses, purely in terms of its unique characteristics and the high level of quality and diversity of it myriad of installations and services, are ideal places for the organization of all types of activities, as promoted by the university community and by society as a whole.

The UAB Campus is a member of:

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is a dynamic and innovative public institution, at the service of the community. The will to serve locally, together with a firm attitude to remain fully open to the world at large, has helped consolidate the university's reputation, since its foundation in 1968, as a centre of note, both nationally and internationally, both in terms of research and investigation (with more than 535 agreements with universities and international bodies on five continents).

The amalgamation of research institutions of a high level within the Campus, belonging to the Advanced Centre for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Catalonian Government amongst others, and the various high technology industries situated within this environment, has helped cement the UAB's reputation as forming a crucial part of one of the principal proponents of innovative scientific techniques in this country, and all in an area of great social and economic growth. This contributes to the development of mutually beneficial projects for all concerned, and galvanizes the fluid transference of technology to different interested parties within these sectors.

In 2009, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona was awarded the accolade of a Campus of International Excellence.
